Commentary

A monaural power amplifier designed with the utmost wisdom to obtain pure power under all conditions and to increase signal purity as much as possible.
KAS stands for Krell Audio Standard.

サスティーンド Pre-to-Bias Technology for high-power, pure Class A operation that has been difficult to achieve due to power and heat issues. The circuit uses five input bias levels to eliminate heat and power issues.
We have also developed and introduced a unique アンティシペーター circuit that senses input at a high speed of approximately 200 times (1,800 V / μ sec) of music signals and sets the bias, thereby preventing the speed of the bias setting from affecting the instantaneous rise of sound.
Moreover, by maintaining the set bias voltage for a certain period of time after that even if no signal is input, the response instability due to constant bias fluctuation is eliminated.

The amplifier section is equipped with 48 TO-3 can-type output transistors with specifications specified by the Kroell, which were produced in cooperation with Motorola. The power supply section is equipped with 48 regulator transistors of the same type to fully drive these transistors.
With this unusual configuration in which one device is regulated by one device, extremely stable voltage and current are supplied to each stage of the amplifier section, and pure class A operation is realized even at the maximum output of 1 Ω load.

In order to solve this problem, KAS has adopted a newly developed アンティシペーター circuit that is used in the amplifier section. It senses both input level and output impedance, and raises the voltage in advance in preparation for supply. This realizes an excellent start-up that cannot be achieved with conventional stabilized power supplies.
