Commentary
This speaker system is the flagship model of the C series.
A 20 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses a 3.2 cm diameter voice coil and die-cast chassis.
20cmUNI-Q driver, a coaxial type unit unique to KEF, is installed in the middle and high range.
The C95 UNI-Q driver consists of a 20 cm cone type woofer and a 2.5 cm dome type tweeter. It is not only arranged coaxially but also arranged in the depth direction. In addition, the outer diameter of the cone of the woofer compensates for the directivity factor or Q of the tweeter so that both units have the same directivity in the crossover range.
In order to realize the structure of the UNI-Q, a neodymium iron boron magnet with energy 10 times that of ferrite is used in the magnetic circuit of the UNI-Q, and the size of the magnetic circuit of the UNI-Q is reduced, and the UNI-Q is housed in the voice coil of the woofer unit.
A 3.8 cm diameter voice coil and diecast chassis are used for the woofer part, and a polymer dome is used for the tweeter part.
The C. C method (coupled cavity low-frequency regeneration method) used in the KEF Reference Series is adopted for the enclosure. This realizes both the excellent transient characteristics of the closed system and the high efficiency of the bass reflex system.
It can be bi-amped or bi-wired.
