Commentary
The C-series bookshelf speaker system uses a passive radiator.
It is equipped with a 20 cm cone type passive radiator using polymer cone to increase the low-frequency reproduction capability.
This unit uses a die-cast chassis.
The unit is equipped with 20 cmUNI Q driver, a coaxial type unit unique to KEF.
This UNI-Q driver consists of a 20 cm cone type woofer and a 1.9 cm dome type tweeter. It is not only arranged coaxially but also arranged in the depth direction. In addition, the outer diameter of the cone of the woofer compensates for the directivity factor or Q of the tweeter so that both units have the same directivity in the crossover range.
In order to realize the structure of the UNI-Q, a neodymium iron boron magnet with energy 10 times that of ferrite is used in the magnetic circuit of the UNI-Q, and the size of the magnetic circuit of the UNI-Q is reduced, and the UNI-Q is housed in the voice coil of the woofer unit.
A 3.2 cm diameter voice coil and diecast chassis are used for the woofer part, and a polymer dome is used for the tweeter part.
