Commentary
This is a speaker system equipped with the latest components combining advanced technology based on the traditional unit composition which follows the historical inscription of JBL.
The LE14 series 35 cm (14 inch) cone woofer LE14H-4 is installed in the low range.
This unit optimizes the vibration system mass by adjusting the amount of Aqua Plus, a unique damping material applied to the surface of pure pulp cone diaphragm. The combination of 10 cm (4 inch) diameter copper voice coil and low-distortion SFG magnetic circuit drive unit realizes low-frequency reproduction unique to a large-diameter floor type system.
A horn type unit is installed in the middle and high areas.
The driver unit is equipped with 175Nd-3 which is the latest version of LE175 series 5 cm (2 inch) diameter compression driver.
By applying Aqua Plus damping to the surface of the pure titanium diaphragm with diamond edge, the sense of distortion is greatly reduced, and clear and stretchy high-frequency reproduction is realized. In addition, high sensitivity is obtained by the neodymium ring magnet, and the depth of sound is obtained by the back cavity with allowance of expanded volume.
A horn type unit is installed in the ultra-high range.
The driver unit is equipped with a 1.9 cm (3/4inch) diameter compression driver, 138 nd.
This unit is equipped with an edge-integrated pure titanium diaphragm and neodymium ring magnet, enabling clear ultra-high frequency reproduction while displaying high sound power.
It is equipped with an HF/UHF combination biradial horn specially designed for high and high frequencies and ultra high frequencies.
This horn uses SonoGlass, which is also used in high-end machines such as the Project EVEREST DD66000. The SonoGlass horn, which has high rigidity and low resonance, is integrated with the upper baffle and is firmly mounted on the upper part of the enclosure, so that it has a great advantage not only in the mid-range but also in the low-range.
The network section uses carefully selected parts such as large air-core coils and high-quality film capacitors.
In addition, the low-frequency circuit and the mid-range circuit are separated and arranged independently to prevent mutual interference.
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
The exterior is semi-gloss finished with cherry natural wood veneer.
It supports bi-wiring connection and bi-amplifier drive.
