NF-1A
Commentary

An active speaker system that pursues the concept of total monitoring by equipping the NF-1 with an amplifier.

The amplifier section has a simple circuit structure to achieve low distortion and low noise. Bi-AMP structure is used to drive each unit independently to eliminate noise pollution caused by electrical interference between units.
A large R-core transformer is used in the power supply section to keep the operation of the power amplifier circuit in the optimum condition even under continuous load and to demonstrate the speaker performance even at high volume.

A 16 cm cone type woofer with FOSTEX-original HP (Hyperbolic Paraboloidal) diaphragm is mounted in the low range.
The HP diaphragm has a third order phase structure consisting of a hyperbola and paraboloid, which eliminates the natural resonance that cannot be avoided with conventional diaphragms, and realizes high-speed original sound tracking with high structural strength. The HP diaphragm also realizes wide-range playback.
The diaphragm is made of wood pulp as a base material combined with various new materials such as ultra-high modulus carbon fiber and super fiber PBO. By sublimating the characteristics of wood pulp to a higher dimension, we have achieved a fusion of propagation speed close to that of titanium and internal loss equal to that of PP material.
In addition to the excellent linearity achieved by the push-pull double damper, the UDR tangential edge eliminates the inverse resonance that previously occurred at the edge, making it possible to reproduce without turbidity.

A 2 cm soft dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses a UFLC diaphragm to achieve flat characteristics without peaks or dips and to eliminate unique characters.

Each unit has an anti-magnetic design.

The enclosure is designed with an emphasis on time alignment, and with a concentrated arrangement of woofer, tweeter, and bass reflex port, good phase characteristics and excellent localization reproduction capability are obtained.
In addition, 21 mmMDF material is used to suppress resonance of the enclosure. In particular, 33 mm thick front baffle is used for the woofer to reduce vibration.

Vibration control is applied between the amplifier and the enclosure rear, which tend to cause excessive resonance, and the power transformer is mounted to prevent vibration.

Inside the enclosure is a unique HP sound reflector that attenuates standing waves uniformly across all frequencies, enabling efficient sound emission from the bass reflex port for superior speed and bass characteristics.

It is equipped with a multi-function filter to adjust its characteristics according to the acoustic conditions that vary greatly depending on the location and installation method.
In addition, the crossover frequency is set to 5 kHz in order to ensure more efficient characteristic correction capability, the correction parameter is set to 3 points of Lo Freq, Hi-Mid ATT, and Hi Freq, and the tweeter level is adjusted with a variable range of ± 3 dB.

It has XLR-type and phone-type input terminals.
