Commentary
A 2-way bookshelf speaker system that employs an air suspension system.
A 25 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The smaller the volume of the speaker, the higher fo and Qo, making it impossible to play in the low-frequency range. On the other hand, in FCS-250, the larger the mass of the vibration system of the woofer used is, the lower fo is kept sufficiently low, and the optimum value of Qo (≒ 0.7) is set by an appropriate magnetic circuit design.
An 8 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses the roll-edge method to suppress distortion, and the crossover frequency is set low to avoid the adverse effect of split vibration of the woofer.
The enclosure uses an air suspension system.
This system is a sealed structure, and by supporting the vibration system of the woofer by the stiffness of the air in the enclosure, excellent transient characteristics and distortion characteristics are obtained up to the lowest sound range.
The exterior has a walnut oil finish.
