Commentary
This speaker system was announced as the standard model of EPI in pursuit of high performance and low cost.
A 20 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The magnet is 1/4-inch (6.4 mm) wide, and drives a 16g, 3/4-inch (19 mm) wide voice coil, enabling linear motion up to 1/2-inch (12.7 mm).
A 2.54 cm inverted dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit employs an air spring system using an inverted dome diaphragm. In this system, the tip of the center pole is shaved into a conical shape to create a small space, and hard cone paper is pasted into an inverted dome shape on the front surface 1/4 inch (6.35 mm). The vibration of the voice coil compresses air into a conical space, and the sound is diffused by the repulsive force.
Equipped with a continuously variable level control for the tweeter.
The enclosure uses an acoustic air suspension system.
The front grille is not removable.
