Electro-Voice Sentry 500SBV
¥ 258,000 (1 unit, around 1987)
Commentary
A monitor speaker equipped with a CD horn.
The SENTRY500SBV is a vertical version of the SENTRY500CD series enclosure designed to meet more needs.
A 25.4 cm (10 inch) cone woofer is installed in the low range.
A horn-type unit combining a CD horn and Super Dome Tweeter is installed in the high range.
The CD horn has directional control over the entire sound range and provides a higher stereo image by spreading the sound with direct sound.
Phase interference is suppressed by time alignment between units and phase coherence in the network.
The enclosure is designed based on the Teal & Small Theory. The relationship between the woofer and the enclosure is analyzed by computer analysis, and the optimum bent box is adopted to reduce size, increase efficiency and improve low-frequency characteristics.
