Commentary

This speaker system was developed through a technical tie-up with Peerless of Denmark.

The woofer is made of cone paper coated with a damping agent to control the split resonance in the high frequency range. The porous cone paper prevents slight air leakage and eliminates interference with the reflected sound that is transmitted differently inside the cabinet.
The drive section uses an aluminum bobbin with small diametrical deflection and excellent thermal diffusivity.
The edge is a high-compliance support system in which a brake agent is coated with foamed polyurethane molded into a roll shape.
By driving this unit in parallel, the vibration area is increased, the directivity is improved, and the vibration amplitude of each unit is reduced by half to achieve better low-frequency reproduction.

In order to prevent air pressure and vibration from the woofer, the back cavity and frame of the squaker are made of superalloy aluminum die-cast and are integrated.
In addition, the cavity is filled with ring-shaped glass wool to absorb reflected sound.
The diaphragm is made of non-prescone paper coated with a damping agent on the back side, and has rolled edges coated with a damping agent in foamed polyurethane.
Aluminum voice coil bobbin is used for the drive part.

As with other units, the tweeter uses cone paper coated with a damping agent.
It has a small effective radius and excellent directional characteristics. Moreover, in order to improve the high-frequency characteristics, an ultrathin aluminum foil molded product is used for the center cap to reduce the moving mass.
By arranging two of these tweeters vertically, directivity in the left-right direction is suppressed.

In order to prevent interference through the cabinet of each unit, the mounting part to each unit and cabinet is sealed with butyl putty material to buffer, and air leakage from the area around the set screw is prevented.

We use air-core coils for the network except for the coil that goes into the woofer, and use plain foil type capacitors with low dielectric loss to reduce current distortion.
