Commentary

This MD deck incorporates the high-quality sound technology cultivated in the S1 series and the development know-how of the DN 990 r commercial MD recorder.

It is equipped with ALPHA processing (Adaptive Line Pattern Harmonized Algorithm), a unique analog waveform reproduction technology, to reduce quantization distortion. With this technology, digital data recorded on MD or CD is interpolated to make it closer to the analog waveform before recording. Thus, 16-bit data is reproduced at 20-bit quality.

The D/A conversion section is equipped with two ultra-high precision 20-bit current addition type DACs.
In addition to reducing distortion by adopting Λ S. L. C. (Lambda Super Linear Converter) which does not generate 0 cross distortion in principle, Λ S. L. C. is integrated into one chip including ALPHA processor in order to prevent unnecessary noise inflow due to circuit routing.

It has a sampling rate converter and supports sampling frequencies of 44.1 kHz, 32 kHz and 48 kHz.

Equipped with a name input function, you can enter information such as title name, song name and artist name in alphabet (upper case and lower case), numbers, symbols and katakana. You can also manage data up to 100 characters per song.
Data is written with the jog dial.

By laying out the mechanism at the center of the chassis, the influence of vibration and resonance is reduced.
In addition, trace capability is improved by adopting a mechanical base with precision processing of highly synthetic zinc die-cast.

Equipped with MD editing functions such as divide, combine, move, erase, etc.

It is equipped with functions such as 30-track program playback, random play playback, and one track / all track / repeat playback between A and B.
