DCD-SA500
Commentary

This SACD player combines the technology cultivated in the development of digital players with the design philosophy of the flagship model.

The mechanism part is equipped with the latest version of DENON original drive mechanism.
The 3-phase brushless spindle motor adopted as the drive motor has an extremely short shaft that suppresses resonance of the mechanism due to vibration and vibration during high-speed rotation, and internal resonance is suppressed by the eccentric center of the disk to create an optimum servo environment.
Furthermore, in order to improve reliability, the pickup angle in the radial and tangential directions of the disc to be reproduced is adjusted to compensate for the tilt of the laser beam and the occasional tilt of the pickup and turntable for all the mechanisms.
A stable disk drive is realized by the S. V. H. loader, which is well known for its hybrid structure combining different materials.

The digital control circuit board is placed under the drive mechanism.
A four layer glass-epoxy board is used for this board, taking into consideration the part layout and circuit pattern to reduce noise radiation.
The entire board is shielded by thick steel plates and sandwiched and isolated from the chassis to prevent interference with the inside of the chassis.

The D/A converter uses an advanced segment type, inherited from high-end models.
The DCD-SA500 is compatible with both PCM and DSD signals like the one used in the DCD-SA100.
This DAC was developed mainly for a high dynamic range (123 dB) with the aim of suppressing noise generation to the limit in order to improve audio characteristics. It has a simple structure with only a pure analog FIR filter in the post-stage of the D/A conversion section to achieve high sound quality.

In the power supply section, the circuit boards for the digital and analog sections are laid out separately, and the power transformers for the digital and analog sections are mounted separately to minimize interference between each section and prevent sound quality degradation.
The transformer is placed on the stagger to suppress leakage flux and fixed to a bracket made of thick steel to suppress resonance with the chassis.

The audio block and power block are equipped with high-quality parts such as large block capacitors, which are used in high-end models.

Bus management function corresponding to the arrangement of speakers for multi-channel playback is installed.
The DCD-SA500 is equipped with speaker configuration and channel-to-channel balance adjustment functions so that you can set the optimum multi-channel playback environment while listening to test tones with your own speakers.
The multi-channel output mode can be selected from the full-band Fix mode and the adjustable Vari mode.

Equipped with surround circuit OFF function.
In this mode, you can enjoy clearer stereo playback by automatically turning off the audio power of the specified channels such as surround, center, and subwoofer, thereby eliminating the negative influence on the 2-channel playback system.

Wireless remote control is included.
