Commentary
This CD player is the second ordinary CD player equipped with a newly developed super linear converter.
The D/A converter is equipped with a super linear converter incorporating Denon's PCM audio technology.
In general, a 16-bit D/A converter requires 16 pairs of high-precision, high-stability resistors. However, a very small error in these resistors causes 0 crossing distortion, which is similar to the crossover distortion of a class B amplifier. This distortion occurs at the 0 point where the plus and minus sides of the signal meet. This distortion occurs regardless of the magnitude of the signal waveform, so it degrades the sound quality especially when the sound is small.
The Super Linear Converter consists of a 16-bit high-precision D/A converter and a conversion error detection and correction circuit. First of all, it uses a high-precision and high-stability resistor and adopts a converter system that can easily correct errors to improve basic performance. Then, by adding a correction signal obtained by a conversion error detection and correction circuit to the obtained analog signal, the D/A conversion error is reduced and 0 cross distortion is eliminated.
The mechanism section is equipped with a newly developed linear drive tracer, which realizes accurate and highly stable signal pickup over a long period of time.
All the main parts of the mechanism, such as the arm center shaft and spindle shaft, are fixed in a thick solid aluminum die-cast chassis that is integrally molded to maintain the mounting accuracy over a long period of time. By damping and floating the die-cast chassis from the main chassis, the influence of external vibrations on the pickup is eliminated.
In addition, the pickup is driven together with a fan-shaped trace arm, which adopts the same method as the DN-3000F that is directly driven by a servo motor for driving the pickup.
In the center of the rotating system, a direct drive system using a DC servo motor developed for CD players is adopted.
The amplifier circuit is configured as a DC amplifier for low distortion and wide dynamic range.
The external power transformer eliminates the effect of leakage flux on the power supply.
The secondary side of the power transformer is an independent Route 3 for the mechanism drive & servo unit, analog amplifier unit and digital display unit to eliminate interference between each section.
The display section uses a computer-controlled centralized display.
It is equipped with functions such as direct selection, program performance of up to 15 songs, index selection, intro search, skip monitor, call function, repeat all songs / between 2 points function, quick selection function, timer playback function, etc.
