DECCA London Enclosure
¥ 99,000 (1 unit, around 1978)
Commentary
A 2-way speaker system equipped with DECCA ribbon tweeter.
A cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit is a newly designed woofer to match the ribbon tweeter with a short voice coil made of aluminum to eliminate distortion caused by driving force.
A ribbon type tweeter is installed in the high range.
The ribbon type consists of an extremely thin (a fraction of a hair) aluminum foil ribbon wrapped around the center of a strong magnetic gap. This ribbon is a kind of voice coil, also considered a diaphragm. The ribbon type has only an extremely thin and massive ribbon that moves, and since the ribbon itself vibrates, it has excellent transient characteristics and enables clear high-frequency playback.
The enclosure has a cheek finish.
There was a special stand sold separately.
