Commentary
This is a speaker system that has been enhanced by introducing additional technology into the 700S.
A 17.7 cm cone type woofer using Plastiflexed cone is mounted in the low range.
This unit combines specially molded pole pieces, an ultra-voice coil gap, and a rigid high-mass cone for improved low-frequency response, and a hyperbolic suspension for less coloring.
A 1.9 cm dome type tweeter using a polymer diaphragm is mounted in the high range.
This unit uses magnetic fluid to increase cooling effect.
The unit layout is opposite to that of a typical speaker system, with a tweeter placed below.
It was conceived by Henry Azima during the development of the 700 and was designed with the intention of equalizing the distance from the sound center of the drive unit to the listener's ear.
In addition, the acoustic phase linearity is improved by using a time delay baffle board, which is injection molded from polypropylene reinforced with natural synthetic material.
There was a speaker stand sold separately.
