CHRYSLER T-1000
¥ 17,000 (1 unit, around 1975)
Commentary
A multi-cellerhorn type tweeter unit developed for the Lab series speaker system.
The T-1000 uses the tension force of the diaphragm itself to prevent the damper from being removed.
This eliminates the non-linear effect of woven fabric, which is unavoidable with conventional cloth dampers, and the non-linear effect of air generated by the trapped air gap in the voice coil.
A stretched duralumin membrane is used for the diaphragm.
