CORAL M-100

Commentary

Driver unit developed for high-grade PA such as monitors and large and small holes.

The diaphragm uses a lightweight hard alloy composed of 9 kinds of chemical components such as Al, Ti and Mg.
This alloy is molded by a unique method without local stress, quenched and aged in a high-performance electron furnace at 600 ℃ ± 2 ° C, thereby realizing a diaphragm with high physical and mechanical stability.

The voice coil is edgewise wound with newly developed high-conductivity aluminum alloy ribbon wire to increase the void occupancy rate and increase the conversion efficiency. In addition, in the voice coil manufacturing process, all parts are checked with a microscope and the specifications are strict so that even one turn of error is not allowed.
The voice coil bobbin is made of highly rigid polymer fiber that can withstand high input and high sound of several hundred degrees.

The casting pure iron NKS-5DG is used for the magnetic circuit. The yoke is made of highly magnetic cast iron with a high magnetic saturation value, and the plates and poles constituting the gap are made of highly permeable magnets. In particular, the plates are polished to the micron level to obtain a stable DC magnetic field and have an ultra-precision finish.

Phase equalizer fading flag (WE type) with stable zinc die-cast double slit structure is adopted in order to realize wide-band characteristics of 500 Hz to 18 kHz.
The M-100 diaphragm is mounted at the rear end of the unit and emits sound in the normal reverse direction. The sound emitted from the diaphragm passes through the double slit of the fading plug located inside the diaphragm and reaches the throat at the front of the unit without any phase shift.

The AH 500 was available as an optional horn, and it can be connected to an Altech horn such as 511B or 811B via an optional adapter AD-1.
JBL horns can be directly connected to the M-100.

There was a special adapter to mount the handmade horn separately sold.
