Commentary
A monaural power amplifier with a fully monaural design.
The Performance is designed with a separate large power supply and the Stereo is designed with a total of four chassis for a complete monaural design.
The circuit configuration is pure A class operation up to 60W and AB class operation up to 390W.
The amplifier circuit uses the same balanced circuitry as the Audio Suite and Audio Palette. The output stage uses a total of 44 output transistors for one channel only, 22 for the plus side and 22 for the minus side. Inside, these 22 transistors are housed in two cylindrical heat sinks, which are cooled by fans from the sides.
The power supply uses a choke input with a choke coil with a large current capacity, and the transformer uses an EI-type core.
The internal structure is a 2-layer structure with a driver stage and an output stage at the upper part, and an output stage with the same structure at the lower part.
The chassis also contains sensors to protect against DC offset, abnormal heat generation, and excessive input.
The AMATI speaker system in the cello can be connected directly by connecting four speaker outputs in parallel to allow for more than a by-wire connection.
A barrier terminal is used to connect the power supply and amplifier.
Direct 4.5mmx8 high-purity copper wire is used for the connecting cable to reduce sound quality degradation and energy loss.
The input terminal is a balanced type, but unbalanced connection is also possible.
A Fisher 3P connector is used for the balance input and bridge input.
