B&W Matrix805V(M805V)
¥ 210,000 (a set of two cars, around 1991)
Commentary
A bookshelf speaker system developed based on Matrix801 technology.
A 16.5 cm cone woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm uses a Kevlar cone. This diaphragm uses a special woven pattern with Kevlar directivity to cause resonance cancellation on the cone surface, and realizes a natural reproduction sound with less harsh resonance.
A 2.6 cm dome tweeter, identical to the one used in Matrix801, is installed in the high-frequency range.
Each unit is designed to minimize crossover components and can be bi-wired.
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
The cabinet edge is treated according to the 800 Series tradition, and the front grille is part of the overall enclosure design.
There were two variations of exterior finish : walnut and black ash.
