Commentary
A floor-based speaker system that replaces the Matrix801 Series2.
Two 30 cm cone type woofers made of polymer cone are installed in the lower range.
The mid-range is equipped with a 12.6 cm cone type mid-range.
The diaphragm uses a Kevlar cone. This diaphragm uses a special woven pattern with Kevlar directivity to cause resonance cancellation on the cone surface, and realizes a natural reproduction sound with less harsh resonance.
A 2.6 cm dome-shaped tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses a special fluid metal with low viscosity to dump specific resonance points to increase high-frequency playback capability and improve power handling, eliminating the need for APOC protection and the influence of relay circuitry.
The network section uses an inductor with pure iron particles as a core to achieve lower distortion and higher resolution. This inductor has a much higher saturation point than conventional ferrite inductors. The location of the inductor is adjusted to minimize crosstalk.
In addition, the cross-over board is divided between low frequency and middle / high frequency to eliminate mutual interference.
Another improvement is the installation of a separate return signal path between midrange and Tweeter (attached to the 25th anniversary Limited Edition).
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
The interior uses a matrix cabinet structure to eliminate cabinet resonance and coloration from the woofer cabinet, and the mid-range driver section uses a special fiber enclosure to eliminate resonance.
For better alignment between the woofer enclosure and the mid-range section, the two blocks are tightly packed together and the elimination of the XLR connector between the two blocks provides more accurate signal flow.
There were two variations of exterior finish : walnut and black ash.
