Commentary
A monitor speaker system that achieves excellent low-frequency playback with a size of only 19 liters.
The DM5 system is a successor to the D5 system. Initially, only the exterior design was improved, but as a result, almost all parts have been improved. In addition, the design program obtained in the development of the DM6 is used for the development.
This speaker has a system resonance of about 53 Hz and a Q of about 0.7 for a small speaker, which is almost the same as a system with about four times the volume, due to improvements in the woofer unit and slightly larger enclosure volume than D5.
A 15 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
New suspension material is used for this unit.
A 2.0 cm dome-shaped tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit is almost the same as the one used in DM6, and its frequency response extends up to an octave above the audible band, and its transient response is also excellent.
The third Butterworth filter in the network section is made of carefully selected parts with less tolerance. In particular, all capacitors are polyester type.
In addition, it is equipped with a short-cut fuse to protect against input exceeding the allowable input.
The enclosure uses a high-density board.
