Commentary
This is an integrated amplifier with improved left and right channel separation and enhanced power based on WAZOO's design philosophy.
The WAZOO XL uses a dual-mono configuration with completely independent power supplies for the left and right sides.
A large toroidal transformer is used independently for the left and right channels, and a dual monaural construction realizes stable low-frequency reproduction without dynamic crosstalk.
In addition, the output power has been increased by 50% to realize richer music playback.
The output circuit consists of single-pair high-efficiency MOS-FET output elements per channel.
By adopting a simple design of push-pull operation with a single pair, the problem of matching elements, which cannot be avoided with a high-power amplifier composed of many elements in parallel, and the problem of losing dynamism and purity by slowing down the response of the amplifier, are solved.
Moreover, by newly using a small current feedback of 6 dB, a faster response and a wide range are realized.
The circuit board is heavy-duty with a 105 μ m copper layer and uses high-quality audio-only components such as Wima polypropylene capacitors, Roderstein carbon-coated resistors, Elma selector switches, low-noise / soft recovery diodes, and WBT connectors.
The volume uses a high-precision VR capable of motor drive.
The chassis is made of all-aluminum to prevent degradation of sound quality due to magnetization that cannot be avoided with steel chassis.
The front panel has a simple design with only a large input selector and volume controller knob, and two switches for monitor and standby. It is designed with precision machining and finishing.
There was a remote controller as an option sold separately.
