BOSE PAM-1

Commentary

The most basic active speaker system in the PAM series.

Equipped with 11.5 cm cone type full range unit for all band.
This unit uses a 4 : 1 ratio aluminum ribbon, edgewise wound voice coil, and ultra-lightweight special cone paper made possible by the introduction of computers.
In addition, a low flux leakage type with a canceling magnet system is adopted to minimize adverse effects on cathode ray tubes.

The cabinet uses a dual-tuned port system with two ports on the baffle surface.
In this method, the effective cross-sectional area of the port is increased by tuning the resonance frequency of the two ports, preventing air turbulence and enabling extended low-frequency playback.
The cabinet is made of a highly airtight polymer specially molded polymer, which is reinforced by computer analysis to reduce unwanted resonance.

The power amplifier section is specially designed considering the speaker unit and cabinet.
The amplifier section contains a unique active equalizer circuit, a distortion compressor circuit and a dynamic equalization function.
The distortion compressor circuit monitors the output of the amplifier. When the distortion is detected, it is compensated by the compensation function. The dynamic equalization function selects the optimum equalization curve according to the playback level so that the sound is flat in the sense of hearing, so that you can always enjoy balanced playback from high volume to low volume.

It was sold separately and there were options such as mounting metal fittings.
