BOSE AM-033

Commentary

A subwoofer developed for the 101 series and 1111 series.

The AM-033 consists of a speaker and a dedicated network box.

AM-033 adopts the original Kusu timas theory (US PAT. 4549631).
This system uses Bose's unique acoustic filter effect. The Woofer unit is mounted inside the cabinet and the acoustic energy is radiated outside in resonance with the mass of the air inside the port. Therefore, even if mid-range energy or strain occurs inside the cabinet, resonance does not occur because the frequency energy is different from the resonance frequency of the air inside the port.
With this system, high-quality bass can be obtained, and the installation position can be freely chosen by filtering out high-frequency distortion that gives a sense of direction of the sound source.

In the acoustic theory, all acoustic energy is emitted through ports arranged in front and back of the Kusu.
This port is tuned to different frequencies before and after the woofer unit, so that near one tuning frequency, there is little output from the other port, and both outputs are multiplied between tuning frequencies, resulting in a wide range of flat bass.

The unit is equipped with a 13 cm cone shaped woofer with a highly responsive edge and damper.
This unit uses a dual voice coil system. Two independent voice coils are wound simultaneously on one core to directly input both left and right channel signals.

The cabinet has a cylindrical shape, and by matching the center of gravity of the structure with the center to receive the pressure of acoustic energy, generation of unnecessary resonance and standing wave is suppressed.
It is made of lightweight and heat-resistant polycarbonate, making it possible to use in environments (below 120 ° C), such as car interiors in mid-summer.

In consideration of the adverse effects on sound quality due to vibration and resonance, the AM-033 uses a box-type network that is independent of the speakers.
In addition, a dedicated one touch coupler is used for the output terminal to easy wiring.

A special simple stand is included.
In addition, various settings are possible by the separately sold ceiling / wall mounting bracket and stand.
