Commentary

A small system developed as the first speaker capable of experiencing on-site sound.

On-Site Sound is a further evolution of the direct reflecting theory.
In the 214, the stereo targeting tweeter aimed at the listener realizes sharp sound localization, and the woofer extended to the high range diffuses sound energy throughout the room, realizing the sound of presence like a live performance.
If you want to enjoy a wider indirect sound field, you can reproduce the spatial impression of the hall by setting the stereo targeting tweeter to face outward.

A 16 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.

A 5.1 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
In this unit, magnetic fluid is filled in the space between the tweeter magnet and voice coil so that stable operation can be obtained even in large input and long-time continuous playback. As a result, disturbance of impedance can be prevented by appropriate vibration control effect, excellent cooling effect can be given to voice coil, and strain reduction and high durability are also realized.

A bass reflex system is adopted in order to efficiently reproduce low frequencies in a compact cabinet.
The 214 uses the Aero Bass reflex port, which is well known for Bose's small high-performance speakers, for the bass reflex port. The slit-shaped bass reflex port that makes full use of fluid dynamics shuts out the turbulence phenomenon at the port outlet and eliminates port noise. In addition, by reducing the air resistance discharged, it realizes low sound without turbidity.

The enclosure uses a composite cabinet, which combines specially molded resin materials that can be processed with high precision and wooden materials that provide excellent musical sound.
As a result, the driver unit that realizes the direct / reflective theory can be positioned with high precision, and the resonance frequency is dispersed by using different materials.
