120 WestBorough
Commentary

This is a small speaker system developed by Westborough Series technology and Bose's small speaker technology.

The unit is equipped with a newly developed 11.5 cm cone type full range unit Hyper Star Driver.
The unit size of 11.5 cm was determined from the results obtained in pursuit of the minimum size to cover the human audible band, and the same size was adopted for the famous 101 and 901 wb.
In order to eliminate split vibration and non-linear strain, this unit has a structure of Kevlar fiber with mica mixed in cone paper wrapped in rubber, and the thickness and cut end have a geometrically calculated star shape to suppress split vibration without using any electrical equalizer.

Anti-magnetic measures using both shield method and canceling magnet method are provided.

To prevent standing waves caused by sound reflections in the enclosure, Bose's unique tuning board is used to tune reflected sound and resonance in the enclosure to prevent enhancement or attenuation of specific frequencies and to increase enclosure strength.
In addition, driver shielding parts and ports are secured with a tuning board to minimize unnecessary vibration.

The enclosure is made of Medium Density Fiber-Board (MDF), which is 1.5 times stronger than commonly used particle boards. Combined with the optimum strength analysis enclosure structure, this board reduces resonance in the enclosure and provides a rich sound.
At 120 West Borough, we add an acoustic richness by using 100% conifer wood, which is also used for musical instruments.

The front baffle has a bird' s-eye maple finish with a UV coating that prevents scratches and increases durability. To reduce diffraction at the enclosure interface, a low-interference round baffle with a continuous curved surface at the baffle corner is used. The speaker unit is also placed on the baffle surface to reduce interference.

The enclosure uses a bass reflex system and a twin tapered flare port (TTFP) utilizing fluid mechanics to prevent wind noise from being generated from the port outlet and causing distortion and noise.
As well as suppressing port noise by shutting out turbulence at the port outlet, resistance to exhaust air is reduced to the limit.

Uses a gold-plated speaker terminal that also supports banana plugs.

By using the separately sold stand etc., free setting is possible.
