100J
Commentary

A small speaker system that uses a star driver.

The unit is equipped with a 11.5 cm cone type full range speaker of star driver type.
The star driver is made by wrapping the cone paper with a rubber material cut into a star shape. This unique star rubber has a property close to the edge. The cone paper itself functions as a mechanical equalizer structure, and the composite structure is designed to increase the rigidity of the diaphragm and effectively suppress split vibration. This realizes excellent uniformity of radiation energy and radiation pattern without using an electrical equalizer. Moreover, the diaphragm follows the input signal and suppresses non-linearity distortion.
In addition, the cone paper contains mica and woven Kevlar fiber to increase internal loss while maintaining the photosynthesis of the cone paper. In addition, double-wound copper wire is used for the aluminum bobbin of the voice coil to improve characteristics against excessive input.

Newly developed composite cabinet made of composite materials is used for the cabinet.
The front baffle and rear panel, which require high accuracy, are made of specially molded resin material, and the top plate, bottom plate and side plate are made of MDF material to emphasize musical sound. These different materials disperse resonance frequencies and effectively suppress standing waves and internal resonance.
In addition, the resin used for the front and rear parts is a recycled material that meets the standards of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The 100J uses an aero flare port which is also used in 121 as a bass reflex port.
The slit-shaped bass reflex port with fluid dynamics shuts out the turbulence at the port outlet and eliminates port noise. In addition, by reducing the air resistance discharged, the low-temperature sound with less turbidity is obtained.

Consideration is also given to the net grill, and the shape takes into account the reflection and attenuation of sound in order to eliminate the natural vibration of the grill itself while minimizing the effect on the acoustic energy emitted from the diaphragm.
Moreover, by using a fixed grill that cannot be removed, natural vibration is eliminated.

A wide range of mounting brackets is available as an option sold separately, allowing for a wide range of settings.
