Ayre K-1

Commentary
Ayre's first preamp.
It supports balanced transmission.
The amplifier circuit adopts a fully discrete configuration using FET, and is a non-NFB configuration that penetrates to the power supply.
The volume part is equipped with four 1 db step 46 silver contact resistance switching attenuators.
By using a mechanical belt drive for volume adjustment, high reliability is ensured, and remote control is also available.
The power supply section is equipped with a toroidal power transformer.
By adopting direct path technology such as surface mounting as well as input / output terminal directly mounted on the board, the signal path is short-circuited to the limit.
The power supply unit has a separate housing to eliminate the influence of the power supply unit, and internal wiring is eliminated as much as possible except for the power supply line.
High-frequency noise is eliminated by using a choke coil for the filter.
Wireless remote control is included.
An optional discrete phono amplifier can be set up in the enclosure.
