Commentary
A bookshelf type speaker system that uses concave units and A / D / solid materials.
A 25 cm cone woofer with a concave diaphragm is installed in the low range.
In the concave type, the center cap itself is used as a part of the diaphragm by making the shape of the center cap concave, which is opposite to that of the conventional one. Thus, the gap near the crossover is minimized and the extreme resonance peak is reduced to ensure simple characteristics. In the SS-470S, light cone produced in North America is used for the diaphragm material.
In addition, a unique radial edge is used for the edge. This edge has an Ω shape with two types of curves with different radii of curvature to suppress split vibration at the edge.
The middle area is equipped with a 10 cm cone type squaker using a concave type diaphragm.
A 3-cm dome type tweeter with an edge support structure is installed in the high range.
A level control is provided for the high-frequency band.
The enclosure employs a pressure-balancing method that is close to hermetic and is designed to balance internal pressure by allowing only unwanted out-of-audible vibrations to escape from the baffle ports, thereby reducing the hermetic enclosure and the boomeiness of the bass reflex.
In addition, the SS-470S uses Aurex's unique A ・ D ・ Solid for the front baffle, which has a specific gravity three to four times that of plywood, reducing box rumbling.
