Commentary

A digital recording processor that can record live PCM by combining it with portable video.

In PCM, analog signals are digitally encoded and recorded on tape. Based on the EIAJ standard specifications, the original signal is decomposed into 44,056 pulses per second (sampled) and the pulses are replaced with numerical values (quantized). This realizes a dynamic range of more than 85 dB, flat frequency characteristics from 15 Hz to 20 kHz, low distortion rate of less than 0.015%, 0 wow / flutter in practical use, and channel separation of more than 85 dB.
As a countermeasure against drop-out, etc., triple error detection and error correction / correction circuit are mounted.

Home AC power supply (AC adapter included), car battery sold separately, and battery pack sold separately (50 minutes for continuous use) can be used. When the battery is in use, the switch can display the battery voltage (depletion status) in 5 steps at the top of the meter. In addition, the battery down indicator lights 1-2 minutes before the battery becomes inoperable to indicate the replacement magnetism of the battery.

It has a headphone port.

Built-in microphone amplifier that withstands digital recording.
It also has a low-cut filter that cuts frequencies below 150 Hz and an attenuator switch that attenuates the output level of the microphone by 12dB/24dB.

You can connect two VTR decks for editing and other purposes.

You can mix the digital code reproduced by the VTR with the digital code of the recorded input, or use two VTRs to copy and record another source on top of it.
In the case of mixing, the volume after mixing is doubled, so an attenuator switch is installed that can attenuate the level of the digital source by 6 dB (1/2).

It is equipped with a digital re-mute function so that you can make unrecorded sections or cut unnecessary sections while copying.

Equipped with multi-function peak meter, bar display and dot display for energy saving are also possible.
The switch also allows you to view the VTR tracking status, and the best tracking adjustment can be achieved by maximizing the meter display.

Cue / Review / 2 x / 3 x / Slow / Still, which were impossible with conventional PCM. The playback sound is dry at high speed. At slow speed or 2 to 3 x speed, the sound is played with no change in pitch. In still sound, the continuous sound at the moment is played.

It has built-in emphasis that compensates for the high-frequency SN ratio and reduces distortion in classical recording.
It switches automatically when playing, and automatically when mixing according to the digital source.

For analog circuits, we have adopted high-quality elements such as butyl-wound copper foil sticons for the SY-Λ 88 II and XD-80 systems.

The design was unified with the portable video V-101C (¥ 198,000) and the video tuner TT-101C (¥ 65,000).
