Commentary
This is the first all-stage integrated amplifier for audio research.
The amplifier circuit uses a class AB-1 push-pull system with a large beam output tube 6550C.
The signal circuit is fully separated on both sides of the chassis with a dual monaural configuration.
Audio Research's long-standing emphasis on power supply, constant current source and special independent power supply system combine to realize sound quality with less interference.
The input terminals are equipped with a Line 5, and a series of tape terminals are also equipped.
Also included are pre-out terminals for active sub-woofers and additional power amplifiers.
All the function controls on the front panel, except for the power switch, are digitally controlled by a microprocessor. By controlling a relay far away from the control section inside the panel, input selection and precise resistance switching of the master volume can be done to minimize the effect on sound quality.
Uses a gold-plated speaker terminal that supports banana plugs.
