Commentary
Active speaker system based on SCM50sl.
The SCM50Asl is based on the SCM50sl and incorporates an electronic debinding network and a 3-channel power amplifier in the same manner as the SCM100Asl.
The network circuitry and power amplifier are contained in separate boxes to prevent modulation due to pressure changes and vibration within the enclosure.
In the sl series, attention is paid to eddy current strain, which is generated between the front plate and pole piece when the voice coil vibrates repeatedly when a signal is sent to the voice coil. This strain interferes with the linearity of the voice coil.
In the sl series, a newly developed material, super linear magnetic material, is used for this part. This material was developed in cooperation with a leading manufacturer in the field of magnetic materials. It retains the current equivalent to that of soft iron, but it also becomes an insulator. This material is processed into an eddy current ring, which is attached to the gap formed by the pole piece and the front plate to effectively eliminate eddy current.
The gap between the two eddy current rings is designed to be narrow to cool the voice coil and maintain the dynamic range.
A 9 inch cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
Pulp cone is used for the diaphragm.
The mid-range features a 3 inch soft dome mid-range.
A 1 inch soft dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
Polyester dome is used for the diaphragm.
The crossover frequencies of the network section are 380 Hz and 3.5 kHz.
This is 440 Hz in the middle of the piano keyboard, which is the center frequency of music, and 380 Hz to 3.5 kHz is allocated to the mid-range with excellent response to gain sound quality benefits.
The enclosure is made of high-density MDF material with sufficient thickness. In addition, position of the reinforcement material is determined by many prototypes to suppress resonance.
The exterior has a walnut finish, and the rear RUNNET is made of materials with good sound transmission.
Steel stand is included.
