ATC SCA2

Commentary

A control amplifier designed with ATC unique approach and methodology.

The SCA2 uses basically simple single-stage amplification to minimize the phase shift in the ultra-high band and to realize a circuit with less influence on the audible band, thereby achieving high power, high gain, and low distortion in the ultra-wide band.

All amplifier stages are of discrete configuration using bipolar transistor and FET with constant voltage drive.
The input stage is a cascode-connected FET with a pure complimentary service long tail pair configuration using low-noise bipolar transistors. The output of the current mirror is transmitted to the buffer stage of the complimentary service Darlington transistor.

High-quality parts such as high-precision rotary attenuators and gas-sealed, plated relays for input / output terminals are used to suppress signal degradation.

The tape buffer circuit is mounted on a single circuit board, the board layout is designed to prevent cross-talk between channels, and the local power supply for each gain stage provides a stable and high quality power supply.

Equipped with 2 balanced inputs and 1 output.

It uses space technology grade stainless steel and shot-blasted aluminum.

A dedicated remote controller, SCA R, is included.
This remote control is designed to enhance operability by using a pair of control amplifier SCA2 and power amplifier SPA150.

As an option sold separately, there was a dedicated phono equalizer amplifier unit SPH2 of the built-in on-board unit type.
This circuit is compatible with MC/MM type cartridges. It is a passive / active type circuit using capacitors patented by ATC and equipped with left and right independent power supplies.
In addition, load impedance and capacitance can be set by the DIP switch on the board.
