ALTEC LANSING BF-419/Malaga

Commentary

A bookshelf speaker system using 419A Biflex.

The BF-419/Malaga was manufactured by Elektri and designed in collaboration with Elektri's research team led by Mr. Beavers, Director of Acoustic Research at ALTEC LTV Research.

The unit uses 419A Biflex which is a 30 cm multi-cone type full range unit.
The diaphragm of this unit is made of a special shape cone in which a 30 cm cone for low frequency and a 16 cm cone for middle frequency are connected by a multi-dumped Cordeson edge to greatly reduce distortion over the entire audible frequency range. The metal radiator of 75 mm in diameter mounted in the center is made of the same materials as Altec's ホーンドラーバー diaphragm. In particular, it is in charge of the highest sound range and realizes a high sound range with excellent diffusion characteristics.
The magnetic circuit uses a large voice coil with a diameter of 75 mm that is edgewise wound with aluminum ribbon wire. The magnet uses a specially selected Alnico V-type magnet. This magnet is unique to Altec and can only be excited up to the specified magnetic flux density, so there is no unevenness in quality.
Aluminum die-cast is used for the frame.

Mounting holes are provided in the front baffle of the enclosure to facilitate installation of the tweeter and network for future upgrades, and it is sealed with a blindfold board.
The enclosure is made of ultra-hard homogen material. The exterior is made of walnut impregnated with oil paint directly imported by Elektri. In addition, the Sa RUNNET is made of special woven Sa RUNNET with special attention paid to high sound transmission and is processed with a design with unique curves of Altec.
