Commentary
Tape deck with cross field head.
The cross-field head was the first head that AKAI succeeded in putting into practical use. The signal current is applied to the recording head, and the bias current is applied to the external bias head. Since these heads are positioned at predetermined spatial positions relative to each other, the signal recorded on the tape is not adversely affected by the bias magnetic field even when the bias is applied, enabling faithful recording.
Uses a hysteresis synchronous 2-speed motor.
The amplifier section is equipped with an all-silicon transistor solid-state preamplifier.
A 2-lever system is adopted in consideration of operation reliability and robustness.
Use the track selector knob to switch between stereo and monaural.
Equipped with a universal system power supply voltage selection device, for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, voltage can be freely changed between 100 VAC ~ 240 VAC.
Equipped with automatic shut-off, pause lever, tape cleaner, equalizer for each tape speed, DIN jack, stereo headphone jack, 3-digit tape counter with reset button and VU meter.
38cm/s is also supported by using an adapter.
