Stereo cassette deck with all front center control system.

The mechanism uses a double independent drive system that drives the wind pulley and the flywheel separately.
As a result, no unnecessary load is applied to the rotation of the capstan and stable tape travel is achieved.

The head block adopts a newly developed linear motion mechanism that keeps the head block in a fixed position at all times, and realizes smooth operation without looseness.

The cassette holder has a double-action (two step action) mechanism.
With this mechanism, when the eject button is pressed, the cassette lid comes to the front and tilts greatly, making it easy to attach and detach the cassette. In addition, it is equipped with a reverse insertion prevention device to prevent erroneous insertion of the cassette.

GX head is used for recording and re-head.
The GX head has a mirror surface finish so that deterioration of characteristics due to adhesion of dust is minimized. In addition, clear sound is realized by focus field recording with low electromagnetic conversion effect loss in high-frequency range.

It is equipped with the ADR system which is AKAI's own noise reduction system.
In the high-frequency range, when the recording input exceeds the saturation level of the tape, distortion (Nikaido distortion) occurs due to the demagnetization effect. This distortion causes a beat in the middle and low-frequency range signal, making the overall sound quality dull. In the ADR system, Nikaido distortion is improved by adjusting the recording equalizer according to the frequency and recording level so that the recording input does not exceed the saturation level of the tape in the high-frequency range. By this, even input signals with many harmonic components can be recorded with good high-frequency characteristics without distortion.

Equipped with Dolby NR as a noise reduction system to reduce hissing.

Equipped with a 3-position tape selector, it supports three types of tapes : ferrichrome, chrome, and low-noise tapes. With this tape selector, you can switch four elements with one touch : recording bias, recording equalizer, recording level, and playback equalizer.

An MPX filter switch is incorporated to prevent the Dolby level from being affected by the 19 kHz pilot signal and its harmonics when Dolby recording an FM stereo broadcast transmission.
For Dolby recordings other than FM stereo broadcast transmission, the high-frequency characteristics can be improved by turning off the filter switch.

Uses a direct function change mechanism.

Equipped with a line / microphone input selector.
