Commentary
Stereo cassette deck equipped with GX head, Dolby system and ADR system.
The GXC-46D is a cassette deck, and the GXC-46 is a GX-46D with a cassette tape recorder equipped with speakers.
The head uses the GX head developed independently by Akai.
This head uses low-noise single-crystal ferrite for the core material and a special hard glass for the support material. By adopting this as a recording / reproducing head, it realizes recording with excellent head touch and sharp focus field.
Equipped with an A.D. R (Automatic Distortion Reduction) system, the recording equalizer automatically changes according to the level of the input signal and records according to the dynamic range of the tape.
As a result, it is always possible to record in a high-frequency region with good linearity, and there is no decrease in the recorded signal due to prior distortion or demagnetization, so f-characteristic degradation, distortion, and beat at a high level can be suppressed.
The Dolby system is installed as a noise reduction system.
In principle, when recording to tape, if the input signal is only in a range lower than a certain level, or if the overall volume is small and noise is conspicuous, the volume is automatically increased to reduce the overall volume difference.
During playback, it is automatically attenuated by the augmented amount and restored to its original state, reducing noise by the restored amount.
The O. L. S. (Over-Level Suppressor) circuit is installed in order to solve the problem of the cassette with low saturation point compared to the open-reel. By switching the switch, the sound is not distorted even if the level is exceeded or a large input is momentarily received, and the distortion rate is suppressed to 2% or less.
Equipped with a tape changeover switch, it is possible to bring out the performance of chrome tape by changing the appropriate bias and frequency compensation amount depending on the tape.
Equipped with a direct function change mechanism, you can enter the selected mode automatically by directly pressing the desired operation button while recording / playing / fast-forwarding / rewind without pressing the stop button.
The motor is equipped with a hysteresis synchronous motor.
Equipped with a VU meter and 3-digit index counter.
