Commentary
This tape deck was developed as a basic model of the 4000 series.
The head section uses a 3-head system, and by using a dedicated head for erasing, recording, and playback, it realizes high-performance recording and playback as well as simultaneous monitoring during recording.
A 1 μ gap head has been adopted for the head, and excellent characteristics are ensured by providing a gap of 1/1000 mm ultra-precision processing.
The drive motor is equipped with a 4-pole induction motor and combined with a large flywheel to achieve stable tape travel.
Equipped with a tape selector.
This circuit changes the recording compensation characteristics so that the performance of a low-noise tape can be brought out.
Equipped with sound on sound function.
With this function, you can record multiple recordings by transferring the recordings previously recorded on one track to other tracks and superimposing multiple recordings on each other.
The line and microphone inputs are designed independently for mixing recording and sound with DIN input for sound with sound mixed with line input.
Equipped with a temporary stop mechanism, tape travel can be stopped temporarily while recording / regenerating condition.
Equipped with an automatic shut-off mechanism. When the tape reaches a wound or cut position, the power of the whole unit is turned off by the shut-off switch.
Uses a 2-lever operation mechanism.
Equipped with a VU meter.
This meter is linked with a monitor switch and automatically changes to the input level and playback level of the program source.
Equipped with a 4-digit index counter.
