The world's first DAT deck announced by Aiwa under the Excelia brand.

It uses a 4-fold oversampling method, raises the frequency to 192 kHz, which is far higher than human audible range, and reduces noise components with a digital filter. In addition, 192 kHz noise is eliminated with a low-pass filter with good phase characteristics, and excellent phase characteristics are achieved over the entire band.

The D/A converter has a single-chip dual configuration for the L/R channel to improve channel separation. By using a single-chip configuration, the current output difference between the left and right channels is balanced within 0.2 dB, eliminating channel error.

The A/D converter has an independent configuration on the left and right sides, and the effect is enhanced by shielding the left and right circuits with copper plates.

The power supply uses a 2-transformer system in which the analog system and the mechanical / digital system are independent.
The mechanical / digital transformer has a 4-power supply configuration and the analog transformer has a 2-power supply configuration, reducing noise from the digital circuit to the analog circuit by the transformer circuit.

The mechanism uses a horizontal loading system and consists of four DD motors : one for the drum, one for the capstan, and two for the reel.
In addition, by eliminating bending of the chassis in the mechanism section, the distortion of the chassis body is eliminated and the level is maintained.

In order to eliminate interference and resonance in each part, the chassis structure is made into a high-rigidity double structure, and noise is suppressed by copper plating. In particular, analog circuits are separated and copper-plated with screws for further enhancement of sound quality.

By adopting an insulator of super-hard structure, external vibration is reduced.

Equipped with a multi-functional electronic counter, the linear counter, reimaging time and program time can be displayed by switching the switch. In addition, the display time of the electronic counter is a rotational speed detection display method, so there is a slight error.

It is equipped with subcode function which is unique to DAT deck. The XD-001 supports start ID, program number and skip ID.

When analog input is recorded, the whole circuit is covered with aluminum die-cast to prevent deterioration of sound quality due to volume circuit, thereby preventing vibration.

Equipped with an AC line noise filter to guard against noise contamination from the AC cord.

OFC (oxygen-free copper) is used for the power cord to reduce the self-inductance of the cord and improve sound quality.
Also, it has a polarity display.

FOC wire is used for all main circuits of the audio section, and high-performance parts developed exclusively for audio are used for each component part including gold plated pin jack.

Wireless remote control is included.
