SL-P10
Commentary

The first CD player was developed in pursuit of sound quality and operability by putting in all of Technics's electronic circuit technology and mechatronics technology.

Almost all of the circuits dedicated to the SL-P10 are composed of newly developed LSIs and ICs. In particular, for error correction of digital signal circuits, an original Technics Super Decoding Algorithm method has been adopted. For general disks (PS = 10)-3) achieves maximum performance with interpolation established once every 5,000 years.
We are also developing the precision of the mechanism that supports these electronic circuits from the semiconductor laser pickup itself at the heart.

Four types of LSIs and eight types of ICs were newly developed and used exclusively for CD players.

The error correction circuit adopts a unique technics super decoding algorithm method.
In addition to the double and double error correction operation of C1 independent double correction + C2 independent double correction, by comprehensively checking these operations, the probability that the correction becomes uncorrectable can be obtained from a general disk (PS = 10-3), the interpolation is established once every 5,000 years.

The D/A converter is equipped with a newly developed 1-chip 16-bit D/A converter AN6806 which is a bipolar IC.
A non-linear strain of ± 0.002% has been achieved by a unique manufacturing method that uses a nichrome thin film resistor and then uses a laser for precision trimming.

By adopting 1 LSI for the turntable spindle motor and 7 IC for the optical pickup control circuit, total integration has been realized and high reliability has been obtained.

In addition to the MN1564, a 4-Kbyte microcomputer that centrally controls random access play and system control, we have developed and adopted dedicated microcomputers for driving large FL displays, a data slicer that converts disc playback signals into digital data, and position control of optical pickups.

The pickup unit incorporates a semiconductor laser, actuator, lens, prism, photodetector, etc. into a precision aluminum integrally molded body. In particular, the actuator (focus and tracking lens drive mechanism) makes use of Technics' outstanding cartridge technology. It has a unique structure such as twin parallel suspension, enabling smooth and accurate focus tracking servo.
The tracking servo uses a three beam system with stable characteristics.

A newly developed small D. D. motor is used to drive the disk turntable, enabling direct drive at a position as close as possible to the turntable.

The pickup, its moving mechanism and turntable driving mechanism are integrated into a unit with high precision.

Equipped with FL display, it is possible to display the beginning of music, recording end position, pickup position, etc.
In addition, program reservation display, music number / performance time digital display, program contents digital display are available.

63 pairs of random access programs or end specified random access programs in units of minutes and seconds are possible.

The disc holder has an indicator that can confirm the pickup position.

Operation buttons are also equipped with indicators.

Equipped with auto-loading function of disk.

There are 2 color variations, black and silver.
