Commentary

FM/AM tuner equipped with newly developed digital quartz system and improved reception system.

Equipped with SANSUI's original newly developed digital quartz lock system.
In this system, the receiving frequency is locked every 100 kHz with reference to the crystal oscillator. Even if an error occurs in the local oscillation frequency, the D/A converter generates a feedback voltage proportional to the error in the output, and the receiving frequency is maintained at the high accuracy of the crystal oscillation.
With this method, the reception frequency is digitally processed, so spurious interference and SN ratio degradation that adversely affect sound quality and reception performance are minimized, and other circuits and specifications are hardly affected. Thus, excellent sound quality is achieved. Moreover, the lock width is sufficiently large, and the frequency is accurately digitally displayed, making tuning operation easy.
In addition, since the automatic lock ON-OFF circuit is built in, it is possible to keep the locked state even if the tuning part is touched.

A low-noise dual-gate MOS FET is used for the high-frequency stage.
In combination with a wide-gap precision frequency linear 4 series varicon, the sensitivity and interference rejection capability are improved.

The FM IF section uses a differential amplifier circuit consisting of three ICs, including a Darlington differential IC, to obtain sufficient amplification and limiter characteristics.

A newly developed linear-phase Ceremic filter and a Darlington differential IC are used to flatten the delay characteristics regardless of the level change of the input radio wave and improve various characteristics.

A PLL MPX circuit with a built-in pilot canceler is used to prevent the pilot signal that divides the FM stereo broadcast transmission into L and R from damaging the music signal.

The reception frequency of AM waves is also displayed digitally.
The AM monolithic IC realizes high sensitivity and high stability, and the AM IF section incorporates an LC block filter with good selectivity characteristics to realize good reception regardless of signal strength.

The audio section uses a DC amplifier configuration that reflects the wide-range concept.
By thoroughly comparing the TIM distortion and frequency characteristics, the power source impedance is expanded from the low band to the ultra high band, and sound quality with power and good balance is realized.

An error amplification type constant voltage power supply circuit is adopted to provide a stable power supply to each circuit.
In addition, in order to prevent the adverse effect of the power supply on sound quality, low impedance has been developed to obtain high separation up to ultra-high frequencies and to improve accurate sound image localization and sound graining.

An FM muting circuit is employed to cut out the inter-station noise that is unique to FM broadcasting, and the harsh inter-station noise is cut sharply to ensure high quality.

Equipped with a noise canceler switch, output level adjustable terminal, 300 Ω / 75 Ω coaxial antenna terminal for FM, and high-sensitivity flexible AM bar antenna.
