Commentary
This speaker system was announced as the first SANSUI speaker system. It was developed with the aim of making sound so natural that speakers would not be aware of it. It became a bestseller with rich bass and well-balanced sound quality.
A 25 cm cone type woofer is used for the low range.
For the cone paper, we have developed a slightly thick and hard paper, and the edge uses a cross roll shape.
A magnetic circuit with a magnetic flux density of 9,600 gauss is adopted.
The 12 cm cone type mid-range is used for the mid-range.
The structure of the rear face is sealed to avoid the influence from other units.
A horn type tweeter is used for the high range.
The network uses a specially designed coil of 12dB/oct. utilizing SANSUI's transformer technology.
In addition, it is equipped with a tap-type level control, and there is no series resistance unlike the conventional volume type, so damping characteristics do not decrease.
This level control can be switched to 3 points (clear, natural, soft).
The enclosure is a bass-reflex system using a pipe duct, and a sound-absorbing material is placed inside to reduce interference.
The material is a chip board 21 mm thick with a walnut finish.
The front uses a handmade lattice pattern that makes use of Japanese architectural techniques.
