Commentary
Pre-main amplifier that adopts α -X balanced circuit and NEW diamond differential circuit.
It uses an α -X balanced circuit and a balanced amplification method in which noise is naturally canceled. This circuit differs from conventional amplification circuits in that not only the signal is amplified but also the power supply is not grounded.
In addition, the AU - α 607 Extra uses a NEW diamond differential circuit and reduces the impedance of the entire circuit to further improve the quality.
In addition, the speaker drive is not driven between the output of the amplifier and ground as in the past. Instead, it is driven from both directions on the + side of the speaker equal to the - side. This is a double push-pull method, which responds to changes in impedance and phase.
NEW diamond differential circuit with cascade connection of FET used in the first stage is adopted.
This reduces the influence of connected devices on sound quality due to differences in output impedance when power amp direct is used.
The power supply section uses SANSUI's unique balanced power supply, which is independent from the ground and has a closed loop.
The + and - currents are always equal, eliminating the negative effects of unbalanced power on the music signal.
In addition, the parts used are custom electrolytic capacitors developed for large power transformers and audio equipment.
The structure of the amplifier uses twin monaural construction.
The power supply section is placed in the center and the power amplifier section mounted on a large heat sinker is arranged symmetrically and separately. In addition to achieving stability, the power supply section is compatible with crosstalk caused by differences in signal levels between L/R units, and interference between power supply system vibration and music signals.
It is equipped with a power amplifier direct switch and two normal inputs.
It uses a unique "direct access rotary switch" in which the source of the input system is selected inside the rear terminal. The contact part of the rotary switch is gold-plated in pursuit of high quality.
It is equipped with a source direct switch and can be played back without using auxiliary circuits such as balance volume, muting, and subsonic filter.
