Commentary
An AM/FM stereo tuner designed for high sensitivity, high selectivity and stability at low cost.
The front-end section uses a high-frequency single-stage amplifier circuit that combines an FET with a low noise figure and a frequency number line type 3-row varicon to improve sensitivity and interference rejection.
The IF section uses Pioneer's original IC that combines more than 200 elements in total into a single IC, and the selection element uses a phase linear ceramic filter with excellent phase characteristics.
In this circuit, the waveform is well shaped by the 5-stage limiter, and noise of AM component is also removed.
The MPX section has an IC dedicated to the PLL circuit.
The PLL detects the phase difference between the two signals so that the demodulation signal and the pilot signal generated in the MPX are always in phase with each other, and controls the demodulation signal correctly. This improves the stability of the separation characteristics of the MPX section.
It has a built-in muting circuit to cut off noise at the time of detuning and noise between stations.
A dedicated IC is used in the AM tuner section.
This IC has an excellent AGC characteristic that ensures constant operation regardless of the strength of the input, ensuring stable sound quality even in high-electric-field regions.
Equipped with a lever switch that combines a selector switch and a muting circuit.
FM-mono is combined with muting off, FM-auto is combined with muting on, and AM is selected independently.
Equipped with a center tuning meter.
When AM is received, this meter acts as a signal meter to indicate the strength of the input.
The walnut finished wood case that can be used commonly for TX-6300, SA-6300, TX-6700, and SA-6700 was sold separately.
