Commentary
Powered subwoofer for DVD audio.
The unit is equipped with 30 cm cone type woofer.
This unit uses a magnetic circuit with a 156 mm diameter magnet.
In addition, it is equipped with a 30 cm cone type passive radiator, and the volume inside the enclosure is utilized as energy for heavy bass reproduction. In addition, the wind noise generated in the port part, which is considered to be unavoidable in the bass reflex system due to its structure, is fundamentally eliminated.
The amplifier section uses a 200W D-class amplifier equipped with a switching power supply.
Compared with the transformer power supply of a general powered subwoofer, it generates less heat and provides a stable supply of electric current. It also contributes to the miniaturization of the amplifier section and has the advantage that almost all the volume inside the enclosure can be secured for high-sound reproduction.
It is equipped with a filter switch to correspond to the subtly different Subwoofer roles of DVD-Video and DVD-Audio.
This function allows you to select a low-frequency playback mode (playback of frequencies above 150 Hz on/off).
MDF is used for the enclosure. The inside is reinforced with a double top plate and reinforced beams. The bottom is equipped with a mountain-shaped sound-absorbing material and 34 mm thick ground plate to spread sound efficiently in four horizontal directions.
The unit is fixed to the cross legs, and the four peripheral parts of the speaker are inserted into the baffle and fixed, and also contributes to the reinforcement of the base plate.
The exterior has a real wood finish.
Speaker input and RCA pin are used as input terminals.
It also has a line-out connector for connecting two or more powered sub-woofers.
