Commentary

This is a pure malt speaker system that uses TAD technology to further improve sound quality.

Pioneer established the Environmental Protection Promotion Committee in 1991 and has been working on three visions : Safety (no toxic substances), Cleanliness (no waste), and Ecology (no use of limited resources). The Pure Malt Speaker Series was developed in collaboration with Suntory.

Casks made of hard white oak, more than 100 years old, are used to mature whiskies for about 50 years. A pure malt speaker recycles the barrel's side plate as an enclosure, which, unlike a freshly cut plate, has a soft, lingering sound when tapped.

The enclosure color is celtee oak, the color of the hardened barrel.
In addition, the barrel laminated wood used for the enclosure is made with the same straight grain cutting method as that used for high-class furniture. The natural pattern called "Toraki" can be seen. In addition, each piece has a different character, such as the nail marks of the barrel and the stain marks of the whiskey, which are unique features of the barrel side plate made with the barrel side plate. A 10 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm uses a pulp diaphragm that inherits the know-how of TAD. This diaphragm is made by a busy process of finely grinding rare pulp, making it with high-quality water, and producing it in a special single-cavity mold. It achieves the high rigidity and internal loss characteristic of natural materials, and the concentric corrugation ribs increase the diaphragm strength and enable sound with good response.
The edge part uses foamed polycarbonate urethane which is a new material that is light and excellent in internal loss, and the reproducibility of minute sound is improved by the TAD traditional corrugation shape with excellent linearity.

A bass-reflex system is used for the enclosure, and a hollowed-out duct made material is used for the duct.
The speaker terminals come directly out and are firmly attached to the back plate of the enclosure.

Grill net comes with 2 kinds of variation and you can choose from 2 of deep red and deep green according to your preference.
