Pioneer S-A4SPT-PM
¥ 39,900 (1 unit, sold in August 2005)
Commentary
This pure malt speaker system was born from a collaboration with Suntory.
Pioneer established the Environmental Protection Promotion Committee in 1992 and has been working on three visions : Safety (no toxic substances), Cleanliness (no waste), and Ecology (no use of limited resources). The Pure Malt Speaker Series was developed in collaboration with Suntory.
The enclosure is made of recycled white oak that was actually used as a barrel for maturing whiskey.
10 cm cone type woofer using aramid fiber for diaphragm and center cap is mounted in low range.
In addition, a 2 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
Based on the technology of Pioneer's small speaker S-A4spirit, the enclosure is designed using white oak barrel materials.
For the bass reflex duct, we have also adopted a shaved duct made of pure malt material.
A portion of the sales of these speakers will be donated to the Green Fund of the National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization.
