Commentary
This 3-way speaker system was developed with the aim of achieving sound image realism by suppressing the 3 points of high efficiency, power linearity, and sound image localization.
In order to expand the area of the best listening position, a 3-way unit is collected in the center of the baffle surface to create a point sound source.
The symmetrical design also improves directional characteristics.
A 26 cm cone type woofer is used for the low range.
120 mm φ large magnet and long travel voice coil are adopted.
A 10 cm cone type mid-range with an aluminum die cast frame is used for the mid-range.
High body input is realized by high heat-resistant voice coil.
A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter, which is exactly the same as the S-180A, is used for the high range.
B-alloy (boron alloy) is used for the diaphragm to obtain a faithful vibration mode.
The network is designed with low loss and high input resistance.
In addition, by arranging the coils in a perfectly orthogonal arrangement, interference is eliminated and crosstalk is reduced.
