Commentary

This 3-way speaker system has been improved to realize sound policy of sound image realism in higher dimension.

A 32 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm is made of carbon graphite cone, which is strong, lightweight and has high internal loss. It is compatible with digital sources with a wide dynamic range. It also uses a large magnetic circuit with an outer diameter of 165 mm.

The mid-range is equipped with a 12 cm balanced drive type mid-range using B-alloy (boron alloy) diaphragm.
B-alloy is second only to diamond in hardness. It is manufactured by Pioneer's unique method in which it is penetrated into the base titanium by special heat treatment.

A ribbon type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit has a direct drive structure (full-face drive system) unique to Pioneer. With the structure in which the drive unit itself becomes the diaphragm, the vibration system can be reduced in weight to almost the same as the mass of the driven air, and efficient high-quality high-frequency reproduction is achieved. In addition, transmission loss can be reduced because indirect parts such as voice coil are not required due to the structure, and transient characteristics and energy characteristics are greatly improved.
The diaphragm is made of beryllium, which is light and highly rigid. This is based on the vapor deposition processing technology originally developed by Pioneer. Beryllium, which is extremely difficult to process, is made into a thin strip of 16 microns and hardened with rib reinforcement to ensure uniform power linearity from minute input to large input. In addition, by making the ribbon into a rigid body, input resistance characteristics have been improved, and reproduction from 5000 Hz is possible.
A high-efficiency magnetic circuit configuration using strontium ferrite is adopted for the magnet.

The network is designed for low loss and high input resistance.

The enclosure has a symmetrical design.
