Commentary
3-way speaker system.
The woofer uses a 30 cm unit that uses carbon fiber mixed cone. By using a unique method of mixing this material uniformly, it is finished into a unit with a wide piston motion band and low distortion.
The frame is made of non-resonant aluminum die-cast and is not only robust but also designed to avoid the escape and reflection of the back pressure of the diaphragm.
In addition, the center cap is designed to release the internal pressure inside the bobbin to expand the high-frequency reproduction limit.
A high-density design with a 156 φ mm magnet for the magnetic circuit and a long type voice coil with a winding width of 28 mm realizes low-frequency characteristics with less distortion and good articulation.
The mid-range is equipped with a dome type mid-range that uses an ultra-hard duralumin diaphragm with a diameter of 48 mm, a thickness of 40 μ and a weight of 0.26g. This diaphragm has an edgeless structure that is held by a unique double damper from the outside and inside, and suppresses resonance and reflected sound at the edge.
A dome unit of hard titanium is adopted for the tweeter.
The diaphragm has a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 25 μ and is lightweight at 0.08g. In addition, roll edge molded with high-quality urethane foam is used for the edge. The special coating has an appropriate internal loss and resonance and reflected sound are kept very low.
The enclosure is fully reinforced with baffle plates reinforced with multi-layer lauan plywood 30 mm thick and the rest hardened with high-density birch board 25 mm thick.
The sound absorbing material uses acetate fiber with a Y-shaped cross section with a large surface area to prevent standing waves.
Both mid-range and tweeters are floating mounted on baffle plates via special cushioning materials.
The network uses air-core coils for all choke coils and low-loss MF and MP condensers.
