Commentary
R Series 3-way speaker system.
A 25 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses FB cone with special coating, urethane foam edge and long voice coil to prevent non-linear strain and improve temperature and humidity resistance as well as high compliance.
In addition, a ferrite magnet of 120 mm φ is used for the magnetic circuit, and a center pole covered with a pure copper cap is used to suppress magnetic strain.
The mid-range has a 12 cm cone type mid-range.
This unit is based on the commercially available PM-12F and modified specifically for the CS-R50. It uses a special treatment for corn paper to aim for a delicate and firm sound, and the center cap also uses hard duralumin combined with a special damping material.
In addition, a sealed back chamber is installed at the rear of the unit to provide sound absorption and prevent interference with the woofer unit.
A horn type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses a diaphragm made of polyester resin with evaporated aluminum.
Woofer and mid-range networks have a CR-type impedance compensation circuit that reduces impedance changes that increase in the high-frequency range.
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system, and a sound-absorbing partition in the center of the enclosure serves as a high-cut filter to enhance the bass reflex effect and prevent standing waves.
It comes with a blue grill. Also, there were brown and red grills as an option sold separately.
